What is a Free Zone ?
A "Free Zone" is a specific territory set aside by a government where laws and regulations are more liberal and favorable to investors and business projects than in the rest of the country. It is a much more free business environment. These zones provide transportation facilities as well as office space and industrial infrastructures.

There is normally no restriction on the nationality of the companies operating in the zone, no business or corporate income taxes and no customs duties to be paid. No restrictions are imposed on repatriation of the revenues and profits and there are no reinvestment obligations. The Immigration and Labor Laws are also more flexible.

Advantages of doing business in a UAE Free Zone
In the UAE, Free Zones offer such facilities to investors in addition to the exceptional strategic advantages of the country's location and business opportunities.

The UAE Free Zones also provide the important advantage of permitting a foreign investor to operate without the legal obligation of UAE nationals control of corporations, which is enforced outside these zones. Such an obligation also exists in all other countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council.
